Company History

Established in 1993 in Springfield, Missouri, Wood Re New is currently a franchise corporation specializing in the field of restoring and protecting exterior wood structures such as wood decks, fences, boat docks, cedar, and redwood siding. Wood Re New's company slogan is "Why replace when you can Re New? Wood Re New"

In their second year of business, and with the assistance of a chemist, Wood Re New developed a proprietary cleaner specifically designed to clean wood fibers, remove mold and mildew, and rinse the wood without high pressure and without damaging the wood. The process does not require the Wood Re New specialist to use any chlorine bleach or acids on the wood.

This environmentally responsible approach continued to be part of Wood Re New's primary vision both during, and beyond the development of Wood Re New's "private label" Wood Protector which, in addition to effectively repelling water, also blocks harmful u.v. rays which are known to degrade and discolor wood to gray or black. The Wood Re New Wood Protector is exclusive to Wood Re New operators, and is not available to the public. Cutting edge technology in the areas of wood water repellents and ultra violet blocking ability were employed in its development.

The water repellent properties of the Wood Re New Protectant provide homeowners the benefit of adding many additional years to the life of their existing wood, rather than having to replace the wood. The water repellents effectively reduce, or retard, the seasonal weathering process, wherein deck or fence boards shrink, then swell, or vise versa, and the process repeats continually. This shrinking and swelling is a natural occurring condition with exterior wood structures which have absorbed a moderate amount of moisture from rain or snow. Temperature changes (between seasons), and extreme seasonal conditions of temperature and/or precipitation, ultimately provide the catalyst needed for the process. When the ideal moisture and temperature conditions are reached, non-protected wood will begin to exhibit such destructive consequences as splitting, cracking, and splintering, fasteners will loosen or release (nails popping), and boards may warp or become cupped.

Cutting-edge exterior wood protection was not enough. Throughout the development process of the Wood Re New Wood Protector, Stan Krempges, Wood Re New's founder, sought not only to provide superior protection for decks, fences, boat docks, cedar and redwood siding, but to revive the wood in such a way that homeowners could recover the beauty it once had when it was new... The pride they felt before the weathering process took its toll on the wood. Hence, again with the expert assistance of his trusted chemists, Krempges directed the development of Wood Re New's exclusive wood Protector with Cedar Toner. Alas, the vision for a powerful wood protection product with penetrating water repellents and u.v. blockers was married with a subtle, semi-transparent natural cedar toner. The product broke barriers in the traditional belief that solid, usually opaque, oil-based products provided the maximum protection for exterior wood while maintaining natural wood look. Wood Re New's final product owned the distinction of providing the maximum protection available in an exterior wood protector product in it's class of semi-transparency. No longer do homeowners need to sacrifice the beauty and distinctiveness of natural wood grain for quality protection.

Wood Re New began franchising in 2002 with their first operation in Jackson County, Missouri. Dave and Amy Sullivan of Blue Springs, MO recognized the demand and the opportunity Wood Re New could provide for Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, and the surrounding area. After careful review and evaluation of the personal and professional values, principles and high standards established by Krempges and Wood Re New, Wood Re New became a viable franchise company with Wood Re New KCMO. Since 2002, Wood Re New franchises have blossomed across the map with impressive success.

As of January 2008, Wood Re New boasts the nations largest and most successful deck and fence restoration company with 23 franchise operators in 10 states. Wood Re New Franchise Corporation, with headquarters in Springfield, MO, continues to earn awards for its outstanding performance in franchising success, and in numerous business performance related areas.
